AKA “La Ciudad Corazón” (Heart City) because it is right at the center of the DR. Being the second biggest city on the island, it is a touristic location with a lot of spots for sightseeing and cool places to visit, without being too busy compared to a large metropolis. A nice change of pace if you are accustomed to living in a dense urban area.
If you are looking for nightlife, there are plenty of bars and clubs all across the board, especially in the Los Jardines Sector and in the monumental area. There are many restaurant options too: ranging from local cuisine to Italian, Mexican Japanese, and much more.
For those interested in art and culture, you can visit Centro León Jiménez if museums are your thing, for music and theater experience there’s El Gran Teatro del Cibao. And for amazing views and those who love photography, visit El monumento a los héroes de la restauración up to the top.
